An activist and committed entrepreneur, Michel d’Ozenay founded SENFAS in 1987 with a strong vision: to produce and distribute 100% organic foods, placing ecology and solidarity at the heart of the company’s mission.
👨🔬 As an agricultural engineer, he quickly became a key figure in the organic sector in France.
🔹 1990: He founded the first association of organic processors and artisans under the banner Nature & Progrès, which he chaired for many years.
🔹 He played a leading role in the creation of Synabio, the national organic interprofessional organization, serving as a board member and active contributor for over a decade.
🔹 He also dedicated himself to labeling and certification issues, contributing as an expert to the National Commission for the Control of Organic Imports, and later to the Council for Approvals and Controls (CAC) at the INAO.
In 2019, Michel d’Ozenay’s lifelong commitment was officially recognized. On the proposal of the French Minister of Agriculture, he was awarded the Knight of the Order of Agricultural Merit. The medal was presented by Carole Delga, President of the Occitanie Region.
It all began in 1987, when Michel d’Ozenay founded SENFAS with a selection of 50 organic references designed for artisans and food processors.
Today, the range has grown to nearly 1,500 products, reflecting strong expertise and a constantly evolving offer.
Since its inception, SENFAS has developed in-depth expertise in sourcing organic ingredients and raw materials from carefully controlled supply chains.

🌍 In line with our sustainable values, we prioritize local sourcing whenever possible and support fair-trade supply chains for dried fruits, sugar, and cocoa.
SENFAS also offers its own range of processed organic products: nut butters, powders, and more.

🛠️ This same level of quality is applied to products made by our partner manufacturers, who are selected according to a strict set of specifications and distributed exclusively under the SENFAS brand.
At SENFAS, innovation is a collaborative effort.
Our sales team reports on market trends and consumer expectations, while the marketing department conducts market studies to anticipate the needs of tomorrow.
In response, our Research & Development engineer, an expert in food science, evaluates the technical feasibility of new ideas in close coordination with the company’s various departments.
Our 60 m² R&D laboratory is the heart of product development.
👉 Here, our engineer develops, tests, and refines recipes, often supported by interns or apprentices.

SENFAS also prioritizes fair-trade sourcing for key ingredients such as cocoa, cane sugar, and shea butter.
Construction work began at the end of 2024. Thanks to our growth, we are building a new warehouse and a packaging facility.
To minimize our environmental impact, the cold storage areas will use CO2 refrigeration, and over 200 solar panels will cover half of the company’s energy needs through self-consumption.
The new buildings are expected to be completed by the end of July.
