Our Commitments

Fair For Life certification

Fair for Life is a program created in 2006 by the Swiss Bio-Foundation in cooperation with the IMO Group, and later taken over by the Ecocert Group in 2014.

The label promotes a supply chain business model that aims to strengthen the resilience of every link in the chain. Certification serves as a tool to recognize and protect exemplary supply chains, where stakeholders choose to act responsibly by implementing sound economic, social, and environmental practices.

For Life certification

Senfas has received the Responsible Company certification issued by Ecocert.
The Responsible Approach defines a comprehensive Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy.

This certification guarantees the company’s ethical, social, and environmental best practices, as well as a commitment to a responsible purchasing policy.

Our Supply Chains

Senfas is committed to and actively involved in an increasing number of recognized certification processes, including for our chocolate chips, couverture chocolate, chocolate bars, and alkalized cocoa powders… as well as our apricots, figs, raisins, and sugars, which are certified Fair Trade according to the official Fair For Life standard.

Through our Fair For Life supply chains, we help ensure that all producers benefit from a broader range of advantages, such as: respect for the environment, biodiversity and climate, our actions for sustainable local development, respect for human rights and decent working conditions, and the establishment of strong and lasting commercial partnerships.

Our on-site expert in Turkey regularly visits the producers, selects the finest dried fruits (in terms of flavor, texture, size…), and performs quality control checks before the products are shipped.

The Added Value

The funds allocated by SENFAS for the year 2024 have made it possible to meet the requests and needs of the current year. As a result, producers have benefited from a variety of equipment and infrastructure improvements, including:

  • Specific inputs for organic farming

  • Canvas bags for harvesting

  • Drying nets to optimize the drying process

Part of the funds also supported community development, enabling the local population to benefit from key improvements, such as:

  • Computers and printers for the village school

  • The construction of a condolence house in the village of Malatya.

The Biopartenaire Label

BIOPARTENAIRE, the benchmark for fair and responsible organic products.

Choosing a BIOPARTENAIRE-labeled product means joining forces — farmers, manufacturers, retailers, and organic consumers — in a shared commitment to social justice and respect for all living beings.

All of our products certified under the Fair for Life label — dried fruits, chocolates, and sugars — are eligible to be recognized as FiABLE according to the BIOPARTENAIRE standard.

VAL DE BÉTRINE, our agroforestry project !

SENFAS is committed to sustainable development through the creation of “Val de Bétrine.”

The goal?
To experiment with nourishing, climate-resilient organic crops (adapted to drought, etc.) that have the potential to capture and store CO₂, using agroforestry techniques — integrating trees into agricultural systems.

The ambition is for this project to be replicable and to help raise awareness among younger generations.

The land is located in the municipality of Saint Hilaire de Brethmas, covering approximately 20 hectares.

This initiative will contribute to SENFAS’s carbon reduction strategy, serving as a virtuous offset for its greenhouse gas emissions.

An Olive Grove in Agroforestry

The plantation is scheduled for March/April 2025 and will include 122 olive trees (table olive varieties) as well as 158 shrubs such as Judas trees, laurel, rockrose, rosemary, and scorpion vetch.

To ensure availability, two-year-old plants have already been ordered and reserved from a nursery based in Aubenas.

But this is just the beginning… Additional projects are already under review and will follow as early as 2025, including a prickly pear plantation and the creation of a food forest to help preserve biodiversity. This will feature nectar-producing plants, fruit-bearing shrubs, as well as insect hotels and bird water stations.

SENFAS goes even further in its commitment !

SENFAS, a committed player in local life and a strong advocate for human and animal well-being, supports the non-profit sector!

Since 2014, SENFAS has been providing financial support to the association Un Espoir pour Ladji. The association’s primary goal was to build a clinic to assist the NGO La Vie Nouvelle, which works in the fields of health and education (schools and educational farms). However, Dr. Théophile HOUNHOUEDOU, Executive Director of the NGO, still needs support to keep the clinic running.

In the cultural sphere, SENFAS supports various festivals such as JAZZOPARC in Anduze and LES TRANSES CÉVENOLES in Sumène. The company also lends its support to the Cratère Theater in Alès and to a theater company called Le Bain Collectif.

In terms of environmental action, SENFAS supports the CEST Med, an organization that welcomes, treats, and studies injured sea turtles or those affected by strandings or accidental capture in fishing nets.
